JW Timber Ltd is a family run Timber Merchant based in Marden. We have an immediate vacancy for a Trainee Timber Selector/Yard Operative.

The candidate would be trained so they could learn to recognise the different species of timber and gain experience in selecting customer orders.Duties would include controlling offcuts, stacking timber in readiness for collection, ensuring the work area remains clean and tidy at all times to comply with Health & Safety. Other duties of general maintenance around the yard and at times assisting the machinist in the machining of timber.

The ideal candidate will possess good maths skills, willingness to learn, ability to adapt to different tasks, be sociable, friendly and enjoy working in an outside environment. Own means of transport due to our remote location and an interest in timber would be an advantage.
